Our Guiding Principles

At Aletheia Foundation, we believe that our services and advocacy programmes should be principle-driven. We have taken time in the rationalization and analysing the principles that are important to us, so we could develop programs consistent with those principles. An essential principle to us is optimism. We believe that pregnancy should not be used to define the life of a teenage mother because her right to education does not cease upon expectancy. This is the backbone of our motto “The Journey Continues.”

Why we think it is important to address teenage pregnancy?

Teenage pregnancy is a major health, social, and economic concern in Kenya. It results in countless cases of maternal deaths, high child mortality rates, and school absenteeism/ dropping out of school. Consequently, this perpetuates the cycle of poverty as it stunts the social, health, and economic development of a country.
